WWE’s Roman Reigns Among New Wrestling Observer Hall Of Fame Inductees
Roman Reigns has been acknowledged by voters of the Wrestling Observer Hall of Famer, along with several other big names from the pro wrestling business.
It has been an incredible time in WWE as the company continues to do record business everywhere they go. The man who has been at the top of the WWE food chain over the last four years is the “Original Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.
After holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for an incredible 1,316 days and headlining WrestleMania 40 on both nights, Roman Reigns has taken his rightful spot in the Wrestling Observer’s Hall of Fame.
This year’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame inductees are WWE’s Roman Reigns, New Japan star Shingo Takagi, WWE expansion headliner Paul Orndorff, Montreal promoter and wrestler Johnny Rougeau, AEW’s The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Los Hermanos Dinamita – the brother trio of Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 and Universo 2000 from Mexico, former Dragon Gate star Cima, U.K. technical standout Johnny Saint, and pioneer manager Bobby Davis.
The Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame is run by veteran wrestling writer Dave Meltzer and the votes are cast by reporters, historians, and industry professionals from the past including yours truly. The awards are broken down into six sections, U.S. and Canada modern (wrestlers/other industry standouts whose last year as a top star fit into the past 30, or 1994), U.S. and Canada historical (whose last year in what would be considered a main star position was 1993 or earlier), Japan, Mexico, Rest of the World and a section for non-wrestlers, just as managers, promoters, television announcers, owners and even referees and musical composers and belt makers.
To get into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, you need 60% of the votes in your category.
Dave Meltzer wrote in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter about why he thinks Roman Reigns was deserving of the spot in the Hall of Fame.
With the Bloodline storyline being the WWE’s strongest since Austin vs. McMahon, the company has expanded its major shows with more stadium events and big events all over the world that local governments pay for. From a television standpoint, the company’s numbers hold their own while most shows audiences dwindle due to the competition from streaming.
The company routinely sets record gates, and more people watch the major shows than ever before. While Reigns is a part-timer, he has been the focal point whenever he’s around except when Dwayne Johnson is around, and they are linked together.
Paul Ordoff’s son Travis posted on X/Twitter thanking voters for his late father’s Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame induction.
On behalf of my father I would like to thank @davemeltzerWON, @WONF4W & all those that voted Paul Orndorff into the Hall of Fame.
It's a #1derful honor & I know my father would be grateful.

Roman Reigns Heading To WWE Survivor Series For WarGames
At WWE’s Crown Jewel PLE, Roman Reigns was pinned by his cousin Solo Sikoa in the six-man tag team match main event. The good news for Reigns is that his reunited version of the original Bloodline is going to face off against Solo’s current version of The Bloodline group.
As it stands now, Roman Reigns will team up with cousins Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn (Sami Uso?) against The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. There will also be fifth members of the teams, but those have not been confirmed yet.
WWE Survivor Series takes place on November 30th in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with Men’s and Women’s WarGames matches as the big attractions.
