WWE Hall Of Famer Points Out Major Problem With Roman Reigns’ Return
A WWE Hall of Famer has pointed out a flaw in the Roman Reigns return to help The Usos on Raw.
In the main event of WWE Monday Night Raw on September 29th, The Usos faced off against The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. It wasn’t just a regular match. It was a Tornado Tag Team Match, meaning that anything goes and that the four men in the match didn’t have to tag.
The match featured the four wrestlers involved, while Paul Heyman was at ringside supporting The Vision. As the match went on, The Vision took control and looked ready to win, but that’s when Roman Reigns made his triumphant return to WWE TV after a month away.
Reed and Breakker brutally attacked Roman Reigns at WWE Clash in Paris one month earlier, which was a way to take Reigns out of WWE storylines so he could film the Street Fighter movie. Now that the movie commitments are done, Reigns was back.
When Reigns got into the ring on Raw, he had a steel chair and beat up Breakker and Reed with it. The Usos got back into it with superkicks and a double Uso Splash for the win.
After the match, Roman Reigns celebrated with his cousins, The Usos. Jey shook hands with Reigns, and they hugged. Reigns told Jey that this is the only thing that ever mattered. Reigns said that they gotta take it because nobody ain’t ever gonna give it to them. Jimmy was looking on in the background, almost as if he was ignored by Reigns.
Roman Reigns’ Raw Return Felt Wrong To WWE Hall of Famer
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley, aka Bully Ray, spoke about how the segment felt a bit off. Since there wasn’t any cheating by The Vision, nor did they get an assist from somebody else, it was simply Reigns going into the ring to help The Usos win. Ray explained how that felt like a major problem to him.
“So what we saw last night from Roman is normally what the heels do. They come and they switch the odds in their favor. Now, if in that tag team match, the heels make the save first, then the babyfaces make the save…now it’s tit-for-tat. But as a babyface team, we never made a save for one another first because that’s basically admitting if you didn’t make the save, your guy would have gotten pinned.
If Roman Reigns doesn’t come to the ring last night, The Usos lose that match. That’s why I have a problem with Roman coming down without righting a wrong or coming to even the odds. Or coming down to help these guys because somebody was going to get involved that didn’t belong in that match.”
It could be explained in WWE storylines that Reigns was making his return to pay back The Vision for their cheap attack on him at Clash in Paris one month earlier. For now, many fans may agree with Ray’s assessment.
