A prominent WWE TV personality has explained how the winner of the new WWE World Heavyweight Title will be “less than” Roman Reigns, the WWE Champion.

Roman Reigns has been the WWE Universal Champion for 972 days and he’s held the WWE Title for the last 15 months as well. As the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Reigns has been very difficult to beat, which is why WWE created a new World Heavyweight Title.

Triple H unveiled the brand new WWE World Heavyweight Title this past Monday on Raw. It was announced by Triple H that Roman Reigns would take his two titles with him to whatever show he would be drafted to while the new World Title would be on the other show.

During the April 28th edition of WWE Smackdown, Roman Reigns was drafted to Smackdown with Solo Sikoa & Paul Heyman. That meant that the new WWE World Heavyweight Title would be a part of Raw.

Some of the big name male superstars drafted to Raw are Cody Rhodes, GUNTHER, Matt Riddle, Drew McIntyre, The Miz and Shinsuke Nakamura. Plenty of other big names will be drafted on Monday’s Raw as well with Seth Rollins considered by many to be a top contender for the newly created championship.

On this week’s WWE After The Bell podcast, Raw announcer Corey Graves spoke about how the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will feel “less than” Roman Reigns no matter who holds the title.

“I think it’s exciting to have that championship back because it gives ‘Raw’ and ‘SmackDown’ both the opportunity to identify themselves as separate, strong, complete brands.”

“But with the introduction or reintroduction of the World Heavyweight Championship comes an epic workload. Until somebody beats Roman Reigns, there will always be a perception that any other champion, any other superstar, is slightly less than. So the onus is on whoever becomes World Heavyweight Champion at Night of Champions to put in the work.”

As he continued, Graves tried to motivate whoever the new champion is.

It is now on your shoulders to prove that you are not less than Roman Reigns, you are just different than Roman Reigns because you are on a different branded show.”

The new WWE rosters will take effect on Monday, May 8th, which is two nights after Backlah.
