WWE Returning To Western Australia With UFC
A new report has given an update on WWE’s planned return to Australia.
In February 2024, WWE took Elimination Chamber to Perth, Australia. The event was held at Optus Stadium, with more than 50,000 fans cramming into the venue to watch some of the biggest names wrestling has to offer.
The men’s and women’s chamber matches were won by Drew McIntyre and Becky Lynch, respectively, while Australia’s own Rhea Ripley retained her Women’s World Title in the main event.
The event was the first to be held in the country since Super Show-Down in 2018 and was immediately deemed a huge success. So it’s perhaps unsurprising that the company is already plotting a return.
WWE Heading Back To Australia
The TKO Group has agreed a multi-event deal to take WWE and UFC back to the Western Australian city of Perth.
According to the report from The Western Australian, the deal is for five events over the next year and a half. There had already been a deal in place between the TKO Group and the local government for a UFC Fight Night event in Perth sometime in 2025.
As part of the agreement, WWE will hold a Premium Live Event in Perth, preceded by SmackDown and followed by Monday Night Raw. All events will be held at the RAC Arena, with a UFC pay-per-view following in 2026.
Meanwhile, it’s been announced that AEW will be returning to Australia in 2026. The Tony Khan-led promotion held its first event in the country on February 15, when Grand Slam Australia headed to Brisbane.
In the main event, Toni Storm defeated Mariah May to regain the AEW Women’s World Championship.
