WWE May Return To Familiar City For WrestleMania 42
A city that has hosted WrestleMania multiple times in the past may get to host it again.
The city of Las Vegas will get to host WrestleMania 41 on April 19th and 20th. It’s the second time that Las Vegas will host WrestleMania, but the first time that it will be at Allegiant Stadium, which is the home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
It has been reported by PWInsider that it has been mentioned locally in Louisiana the city of New Orleans is currently the frontrunner to host WrestleMania 42 next year at the Caesers Superdome.
New Orleans hosting WrestleMania is not a new concept because they hosted WrestleMania 30 (2014) and WrestleMania 34 (2018) when it was called the Mercedes Benz Superdome. It’s one of the oldest NFL stadiums that is the home to the New Orleans Saints and was built in 1975.
Memorable Moments Have Taken Place At WWE WrestleMania In New Orleans
There were some unforgettable moments at WrestleMania 30 including Brock Lesnar beating The Undertaker to end Taker’s WrestleMania streak and Daniel Bryan winning the WWE Championship in an incredible triple threat main event with Randy Orton and Batista.
In the show’s opening promo at WrestleMania 30, Hulk Hogan welcomed fans to the show by calling it The Silverdome, which is where WrestleMania 3 took place when HOgan slammed Andre the Giant to retain the WWE Title. Hogan was joined in the ring by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock, both of whom teased Hogan for his mistake.
WrestleMania 34 featured matches like Ronda Rousey making her WWE debut by teaming up with Kurt Angle to beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. The Undertaker also beat John Cena in a match that went under three minutes. The main event of WrestleMania 34 saw Brock Lesnar beat Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Universal Championship.
There have been rumors that WWE could be making a WrestleMania 42 announcement in New Orleans at this year’s Super Bowl since the Super Bowl is taking place in New Orleans, but those rumors are unconfirmed at this point.
