A former WWE champion is reportedly dealing with a legitimate injury.

Otis last wrestled on WWE television in early May, where he suffered a defeat against a returning Rusev. He has since been absent from television.

A report from WrestleVotes claimed the former RAW Tag Team Champion was removed from the active roster due to either an injury or personal reasons.

Fightful Select recently confirmed that the Alpha Academy member is hurt. According to sources close to the WWE Superstar, he is dealing with an elbow injury and was undergoing surgery.

The report added that the 33-year-old was not expected to be sidelined for long, though that could still change.

Several WWE Stars Are Currently Sidelined With Injuries

Otis is not the only WWE Superstar currently dealing with an injury. Several other competitors have suffered injuries in recent months, including Rey Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Elton Prince, Dominik Mysterio, Zoey Stark, and Chad Gable.

Morgan, Gable, and Stark are expected to miss months of action due to the severity of their injuries. Meanwhile, Dominik Mysterio will reportedly be back in the ring soon. His father, Rey Mysterio, has also recently opened up about his recovery from a torn groin and busted eardrum, revealing that he should return in August.

Good, pretty good. Yeah, man. I started my [physical therapy]. Not to mention, I had a busted eardrum as well, so I fixed that during my time off. I’m on the road to recovery. I should be back hopefully by August. [H/T: F4wonline.com]
