WWE Rejected Plans For Ricochet To Join Top Faction

Triple H WWE Speed Ricochet

One WWE star has revealed scrapped plans for Ricochet.

On the June 10th episode of Raw, Ricochet was written off WWE television via a brutal assault at the hands of Bron Breakker. The pair have been feuding in recent weeks, and on Raw, the situation came to a head with Breakker launching his rival into a production truck and then through the windscreen of a truck.

The high-flying star is set to leave WWE in the coming weeks and join AEW when his contract expires. However, Chad Gable is expected to remain with the company, despite his contract reportedly ending on June 7th.

MVP Wanted Ricochet In The Hurt Business

In May 2020, MVP aligned himself with Bobby Lashley and promised to take him to the top of the WWE mountain. The alliance saw MVP become Lashley’s manager and guide him to two WWE Championship wins. During this period, the pair were also aligned with Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, with the quartet known as The Hurt Business.

With MVP calling the shots, Alexander and Benjamin captured tag team gold on Raw.

In a post on social media, MVP confirmed he asked for both Ricochet and Cedric Alexander to be added to the group but was told he could only have one. In the end, he chose to go with Alexander as he felt he’d benefit more from being in the faction.

True story. When we were forming The Hurt Business, I asked for BOTH Ricochet AND Cedric Alexander. We were told we could only have 1. We chose Cedric because we felt he needed our association more than Ricochet did. I always thought Ricky O would be a big star on his own.

MVP recently spent time in Mexico getting stem cell therapy as he attempts to extend his career and get back in the ring.
