WWE Rejected Insane Stunt Pitch Involving Randy Orton And A Truck

Randy Orton WWE

WWE declined a top superstar’s pitch that involved Randy Orton performing an insane stunt.

Heading into WrestleMania 41, Kevin Owens was involved in a feud with Randy Orton. The two were scheduled to square off at the Show of Shows before the match was canceled due to The Prizefighter suffering a serious neck injury.

During the buildup of that storyline, the former Universal Champion would cut promos from his car. During his interview with Cody Rhodes on the What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Owens revealed that he pitched the idea of having The Viper crash into his car with a truck while he was cutting a promo.

The 41-year-old revealed that WWE shot down the idea, although he was willing to sacrifice his Lamborghini for the stunt.

In the WrestleMania buildup, I wanted to do one of those in my car and have Randy just f***ing blow through me in a truck. I was willing to let the Lamborghini go for it. They said no. Also, I broke my neck. So, everything went wrong. [1:10:35 onwards]

Kevin Owens Refused To Work With This WWE Star

During the same interview, Kevin Owens recalled WWE pitching him the idea of introducing Damian Priest as his “best friend” during his feud with Roman Reigns in late 2020 and early 2021.

The Prizefighter claimed the company even planned for Priest to replace him in the Universal Championship match against The OTC at the 2021 Royal Rumble PLE. However, Owens rejected the idea.

Turns out somebody threw this idea out there and it stuck for five minutes until I said ‘No, I don’t wanna be friends with him on TV, maybe in real life but let’s start somewhere.’ And yeah it got killed, but he was gonna take my match.

It was gonna be him versus Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. I was incensed, I said ‘F**k no’. But for what it’s worth I didn’t derail his career, he debuted on the main roster like two weeks later or whatever.
