WWE Raw Star Makes Surprise NXT Return
One Raw star saw an opportunity to good to turn down on NXT as they made their surprise return to the white and gold brand.
Every main roster star was eligible for the draft alongside some selected NXT talent but in the end, it is the developmental brand that may have lost out the most at the time as both the NXT Women’s Champion and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were among those drafted to the main roster.
The draft threw up a number of free agents as a result with Brock Lesnar, Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, Mustafa Ali, Omos w/MVP, Von Wagner, and Xyon Quinn all remaining undrafted. However, on NXT TV following Battleground, two of those stars made unexpected appearances.
Mustafa Ali turned up to help Wes Lee and Tyler Bate chase off The Schism while Baron Corbin shocked NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes at the end of the show, dropping Hayes with the End of Days.
Now on the 6th of June edition of NXT another main roster WWE star has turned up on the developmental brand but this time it wasn’t a free agent but rather someone drafted to Monday Night Raw.

Dana Brooke turned up on NXT to take part in the battle royal to find a new number one contender for Tiffany Stratton’s NXT Women’s Championship. Brooke made it to the final three before she and Cora Jade were eliminated by winner Thea Hail.
Interestingly, although Brooke was mentioned as a WWE Raw star during her entrance, commentary then referred to her as a free agent throughout the match.
