WWE Raw Segment Blasted: “Something Vince McMahon Would Do”

Vince McMahon WWE

One recent WWE Raw segment has been condemned as something that Vince McMahon would have presented on the show.

Vince McMahon was lauded for his creativity in the late 90s as the Attitude Era took hold in the company. But as the years wore on, many fans grew tired of what they saw as recycled material, rehashed ideas, and sometimes downright bizarre storylines.

A long-standing hallmark of McMahon’s time in charge would occasionally see WWE stars introduce little people to portray their current rivals in skits, usually leading to the little person suffering harm.

In 2018, a segment saw Big Cass attack a little person, supposedly portraying Daniel Bryan. The skit led to Cass’s firing from WWE, as it was felt he went too far with his assault.

There were perhaps more than a few eyebrows raised when, on the November 24th edition of Raw, a mini version of John Cena was presented to confront Dominik Mysterio.

Raw Segment Something From Vince McMahon’s Era

The segment was almost universally panned by fans, and speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that it was something from Vince McMahon’s era:

It felt completely outdated in so many ways. It felt like something Vince McMahon would do that they’ve since gotten away from. Somebody obviously thought it was funny.

John Cena will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series in the penultimate match of Cena’s career.
