Monday Night Raw is set to get a brand new tag team following an open challenge issued by one of WWE’s major tag teams.
Former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy issued an open challenge for the 30th of October edition of Raw with Chad Gable and Otis riding high following a European tour. Julius Creed of The Creed Brothers answered the call on social media meaning that he and Brutus Creed will face The Academy in their Raw debut.
The Creeds set for their WWE call-up
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the match for The Creeds could be more than just a one-off on the main roster, and right now, it looks like the former NXT Tag Team Champions are getting their call-up:
“I was told tonight that right now, barring any changes, and it was not like 100% but right now, they’re being called up.
“I think it’s about time for them to be called up honestly. They’re a little rough around the edges, they’re impressive as hell. There was a time when my mentality was – and I’m sure it’s the same as theirs – these guys have the chance to be very big stars and they’re very high on Julius as a singles but they’ll probably start as a tag team.”
The match on Raw won’t be The Creed’s last on NXT no matter what happens, however, as they are scheduled to face Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo in a Tables, Ladders & Scares match on night two of NXT Halloween Havoc.
