WWE Shares Randy Orton Injury Update, No Timetable For Return
There’s “no timetable” for Randy Orton’s WWE return.
Kevin Owens has been on the warpath since attacking Cody Rhodes in the parking lot following Bad Blood, but things have now escalated to a whole new level.
At Crown Jewel, Owens was meant to face Randy Orton after also attacking the veteran, but the match never got started. KO attacked Orton during his entrance, battering him with a chair. But Orton fought back and even hit Adam Pearce with an RKO before finally being left beaten by Owens after a huge elbow drop.
Fast forward to the November 8th episode of SmackDown, and it was Orton who was determined to get revenge on Owens. This sparked yet another brawl between the pair, but this time it came to an end with Owens hitting Orton with a Piledriver — the move has been banned in WWE for the best part of two decades.
Randy Orton was then taken out of the arena on a stretcher and transported to the hospital.
Randy Orton Injured
WWE has now shared an update on Orton’s condition, via a short statement on social media. The post noted that Orton has been diagnosed with “cervical cord neurapraxia.” The injury can occur after “cervical hyperextension or hyperflexion trauma.”
BREAKING: After last night’s brutal attack by @FightOwensFight on #SmackDown, @RandyOrton has been diagnosed with a cervical cord neurapraxia. There is no timetable for his return.
As the injury is purely for storyline purposes, it’s likely Orton will be back in relatively short order to get revenge on Owens.
