WWE Quietly Changes Name Of Returning Superstar

WWE logo over Bloodline

WWE has quietly changed the name of a talent who returned at Night of Champions.

Bloodline member Tonga Loa interfered during the United States Championship match between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.

His appearance comes 212 days after he was last seen at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2024.

During the match, JC Mateo also made his presence felt, although primarily to create a distraction rather than engage in a physical altercation with Fatu.

Furthermore, the match marked the debut of Tala Tonga (fka Hikuleo), who had previously wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Thanks to multiple interferences, Sikoa managed to defeat the Samoan Werewolf, thus becoming the new US Champion, starting his maiden singles title reign on the main roster.

WWE Changes Tonga Loa’s Name Upon Return

During his NJPW days, Tonga Loa wrestled as Tanga Loa, and WWE has seemingly reverted to that name.

There, he allied with his brother, Tama Tonga, to form the Guerrillas of Destiny, winning the tag team titles seven times. The pair even won the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship once.

On X, WWE’s handle posted a video showing his interference during the US title match, with the caption “It’s TANGA LOA.”

The Bloodline, which had seen a decline in its strength due to injuries and Fatu’s betrayal, appears to be in rebuilding mode now.

The return of Tanga Loa and the debut of Tala Tonga definitely bode well for the faction.

Meanwhile, Tama Tonga remains on the sidelines due to an injury sustained on the April 18 episode of SmackDown.
