WWE Urged To Put Women’s World Title On 32-Year-Old Star
One WWE Hall of Famer wants to see the company give one star a chance to shine as Women’s World Champion.
Naomi was forced to vacate the Women’s World Championship she won at Evolution when she announced her pregnancy to the world. That left some uncertainty over the title, as Naomi had been scheduled to defend the gold against Stephanie Vaquer at Clash In Paris.
Vaquer had earned the right to that title shot by winning a battle royal at Evolution, but was forced to wait to get her chance at the gold.
It’s now been confirmed that Stephanie Vaquer will take on IYO SKY for the vacant title at Wrestlepalooza on September 20th, and there’s at least one talent in the company that will be rooting for the Chilean star.
Booker T Wants WWE To Give Stephanie Vaquer A Chance As Champion
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T explained why he wants to see Stephanie Vaquer emerge from Wrestlepalooza with the title:
Put the title on her [Vaquer]. Put the title on her right now. You know, put the rocket on her, send her a*s straight to the moon. And I’m telling you right now, it’s money. It’s money because Stephanie is a crossover star, man. She’s crossed all barriers, you know what I mean? I mean, all nations, she pretty much checks off.
And when you see her in the ring, you say, ‘Man, she’s good. She’s really good.’ She’s striking — it’s not one of those strikings where you go, it’s just bam, in your face. You don’t see it until you see it.
