WWE Urged To Push 43-Year-Old Former Champion
One WWE Hall of Famer has urged the company to put age to one side and push one star all the way to the top.
If anyone knows about blooming later in life in the wrestling business, it’s Diamond Dallas Page. DDP had been around the industry for years, but did not get his hands on the WCW World Championship until he was 43 years old. And now he’s backing a WWE star to follow in his footsteps and finally win the big won.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, DDP explained why he thinks WWE need to finally push LA Knight all the way to the top, as he thinks Knight has all the skills needed to succeed:
I love that kid, man. I mean, I love the tenacity, you know, the stick-to-it-iveness. Like, it took him a long time to get to that character, and he was good before that — but now he’s great. And, you know, hopefully at some point he gets a chance to really get that ball, because he can run with it. Give him that damn ball because that cat, he’s got it all.
WWE Hall Of Famer Defends LA Knight
DDP also defended Knight from criticism that he’s just copied his act from other stars:
And people who say that he’s mimicking this character or that character — that’s so wrong. He’s a piece of all that. He grew up on all of us, coming up wanting to do what we do, and now he’s doing it at its highest level.
