WWE star blames WWE for his neck injury on Monday Night RAW.

On the August 18, 2025, episode of RAW, Xavier Woods suffered a serious neck injury during his singles match against Penta. The injury occurred when Penta executed a move called the Mexican Destroyer, a variant of the pile-driver, which is generally banned due to its high risk.

Woods later took to social media, accusing RAW general manager Adam Pearce of putting him in harm’s way by allowing the match, pointing out the danger associated with the banned move.

He expressed frustration over the company’s handling of his injury and lack of immediate medical attention, comparing it to incidents involving other wrestlers like Randy Orton. Woods suggested that Pearce’s decisions might have been deliberate to prevent him from getting a rematch for the World Tag Team Title.

What Xavier Woods’ Had To Say After WWE RAW Injury

Hello, my name is Xavier Woods, and I am a WWE Superstar. Our jobs are very dangerous, but precautions are taken to make sure that we are as safe as possible. But unfortunately, this past Monday I suffered a debilitating injury due to the irresponsibility of one Adam Pearce. A maneuver called the Pile Driver has been banned from WWE for years due to the extreme damage that it can cause to the vital areas of a competitor’s neck.

A package pile driver puts even more torque on the neck, thus making it even more dangerous. But the most dangerous pile driver known to the WWE Universe is the Mexican Destroyer. This front flip 720 piledriver adds an incredible amount of velocity and force to the impact and drastically increases the chances for a serious neck injury, which leads me to my next point.

The New Day has fallen victim to double standards for the entirety of our WWE career, and this is just another example in the landfill of evidence that already exists. Randy Orton was assaulted with a pile driver and he was cared for. Cody Rhodes was assaulted with a pile driver and he was cared for. I was assaulted with a pile driver. Where was my care? Where was my Jason Jordan? Where was my Shane Helms? Where was my Jamie Noble? Where was my General Manager?

The most influential WWE superstar would think that my health and well-being would be more of a priority, but I’ll tell you why it’s not. Adam Pierce sent his masked mercenary to attempt to shatter every bone in my neck, all because he doesn’t want to give the New Day our well-deserved rematch for the Tag Team Championship.

But this Monday in Birmingham, Kofi is going to avenge me by beating Penta so bad that he won’t be able to damage the neck or well-being of anyone else on the roster. This is our sacrifice. We fight because we care. And we do all of this while still mourning the loss of the WWE tag team division. We are so strong. Keep the tag team division in your thoughts and prayers. Keep me and my neck in your thoughts and prayers and thank God for the New Day.
