An upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown won’t be live.

It’s been revealed that the July 4 episode of SmackDown won’t be airing live. Instead, the show will be taped on Monday, June 30. In recent years, WWE has worked to give talent more time off around public holidays compared to the decades under Vince McMahon.

The PPG Paints Arena announced that fans buying tickets for Monday Night Raw will now be getting two tapings on the same night.

“Breaking News: Our previously scheduled WWE Monday Night Raw will now include Friday Night SmackDown on June 30th right here in Pittsburgh! TWO SHOWS, ONE NIGHT! Get your tickets now!”

Stars such as Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Tiffany Stratton, and more are currently being advertised for the show.

Cody Rhodes Heading To WWE SmackDown

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Cody Rhodes and John Cena will both appear on the May 30 episode of SmackDown.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena picked up another tainted win, this time over R-Truth, with another low blow. However, that wasn’t his only action of the evening.

In the main event, Jey Uso put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Logan Paul. As Uso appeared to have the match won, Cena pulled the referee from the ring and quickly put the boots to the champion. Thankfully, the assault was thwarted by Rhodes, who was making his first appearance since losing to Cena at WrestleMania 41.

It’s since been announced that Rhodes will team with Uso to face Cena and Paul at Money In The Bank.
