WWE Figure Heaps Praise On Swerve Strickland Following AEW All Out

Swerve Strickland AEW

A WWE Hall of Famer says there’s nothing Swerve Strickland can’t do inside the ring.

At AEW All Out, Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland clashed in the latest installment of their series of chaotic and blood-soaked matches. On this occasion, the pair did battle in an unsanctioned lights-out Steel Cage Match.

When all was said and done the bout was as violent and as polarising as anything produced by a major promotion in the last 20 years. The two went to war with chairs, a cinder block, a staple gun, a hypodermic needle, pieces of burned wood, and more until Page finally grabbed the victory.

While looking back at that match and the suffocation of Bryan Danielson that took place earlier on the card on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T defended AEW against claims the violence went too far. Booker said AEW is there to be an alternative, so he’s not going to talk badly about the promotion.

“It’s just like back in the day, when you had WWE, WCW, and then you had ECW, who did it totally different than these two groups,” Booker said. “I’m not gonna hate on it or anything like that.”

Booker T Praises “Incredible” Swerve Strickland

Although he felt the hypodermic needle spot near the end of the match went a little over the line, Booker gave special praise to Swerve Strickland. The Hall of Famer described him as “incredible,” adding there’s nothing he can’t do in the ring.

“[Strickland] is a hell of a talent,” Booker continued. “The kid’s incredible. He can do anything in the middle of the freaking squared circle. Extraordinary talent. It’s just something that maybe he wants to get off his bucket list, going out and having these kinds of matches.”

It’s been reported that the violent end to the match was a way of writing Swerve Strickland off television as he had been scheduled to take time off. It’s been noted that MJF will also be taking a break as he heads off to film a new movie.
