WWE Positioning Three Stars To Take Top Spots In The Company

Triple H WWE boss

WWE is working to move three stars into the main event.

While it remains home to some of the biggest names in wrestling, WWE could be on the verge of something of a changing of the guard.

John Cena is planning to retire at the end of 2025, Roman Reigns wants to retire in 2028, and Seth Rollins has repeatedly stated that he’s much closer to the end of his career than the beginning.

Add that to Rey Mysterio hoping to wind down, Cody Rhodes looking to explore a career in Hollywood, and 46-year-old CM Punk being keenly aware that he can’t wrestle forever, and that potentially leaves several spots free at the top of the card in just a few short years.

As such, it’s perhaps no surprise that WWE is already working to position three younger stars to take over.

Who Are WWE’s Next Main Event Stars?

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said that WWE is currently looking to establish Rhea Ripley, Jacob Fatu, and Bron Breakker as its next top stars alongside the current main event names.

“The idea right now is to groom Ripley, Fatu, and Breakker to be the people to be with them and eventually in those spots.”

Meltzer added that Ripley is “obviously” seen as the long-term face of the women’s division.

The report from Meltzer comes after an earlier report stated that WWE’s plans to turn Jacob Fatu into an “elite babyface” are already well underway. Although he was positioned as a heel, Fatu has been cheered from the moment he smashed his way into the company, and his popularity has only grown since he moved away from Solo Sikoa.

It’s claimed that Fatu is set to receive the kind of merchandise rollouts and promotion usually reserved for major stars like John Cena and Steve Austin.
