WWE Plotting “A Few Surprises” Before End Of 2024
Cody Rhodes is teasing WWE fans.
On December 14th, WWE is bringing back Saturday Night’s Main Event for the first time since 2008. The show, which will come live from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, will be headlined by the World Title clash between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.
The company will also crown the first-ever Women’s United States Champion, with a tournament already underway. It’s also been reported that two WWE Hall of Famers will appear at the special with the company looking to give the show an an old-school feel.
Saturday Night’s Main Event debuted back in 1985 and ran until 1992 before being brought back in 2006, although it was scrapped two years later.
Cody Rhodes Hints At More WWE Surprises
During a special appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Rhodes hyped up the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event and his match with Owens. He even teased there might be a “few surprises here and there” on the special.
“To be able to bring the concept of Saturday Night’s Main Event back, and again, our Chief Content Officer, Triple H, I think for that evening, him, again, Nick Khan, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, this trio of management. I think not only are we bringing back an exceptional card, great matches, great show, but there might be a few surprises here and there.”
During the same appearance, Rhodes took an unusual jab at Kevin Owens, claiming the star is intimidated by him wearing suits as he’s unsecured about his manhood.
This isn’t the first time Cody Rhodes has teased surprises, after suggesting back in October that the WrestleMania 41 main event will be “unexpected.” The American Nightmare said he was happy for people to speculate about the event, adding that even hardcore fans would be surprised come the big night in Las Vegas.
