Update On WWE Plans For Final Raw Of 2022 (Dec. 26)

WWE Raw Set

An update has been provided for what WWE plans to do on the final episode of Monday Night Raw in 2022.

Tonight’s Raw will be the final live episode of the show in 2022 because next week WWE has plans to do some sort of taped “best of ” episode on December 26th. That’s the day after Christmas and is known as Boxing Day in some parts of the world.

It has been reported by PWInsider that WWE is only slated to broadcast tonight’s Raw episode in Des Moines, Iowa tonight. There will not be a double taping of Raw like there was last Friday after Smackdown in Chicago.

There was more info provided by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer as well, who said this about it on his Sunday radio show:

“This week’s Raw, it is only a single taping, from what I was told. Two weeks ago, it was like it’s either going to be a double taping or it will be a single taping and a ‘Best-Of’ show on the 26th because they’re not taping on the 26th. So I guess — I haven’t been told it’s a ‘Best-Of’ show, but when I was told two weeks ago it’s going to be one or the other, it is certainly not the one because I was told today that they are taping one show tomorrow.”

The interesting about the December 26th date is that the WWE Raw roster will be at a live event in Columbus, Ohio that day. However, it will not be a live Raw episode.

There will also be a WWE live event with the Smackdown roster on December 26th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Those two live events will see the roster traveling a lot from December 26th until December 30th for the final Smackdown of the year on December 30th when John Cena teams up with Kevin Owens against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.

WWE has not officially announced what they will air on the December 26th episode, but they could provide more info later today on social media or during Raw tonight.

That means that after tonight’s December 18th episode of Raw, the next live episode will be on Monday, January 2nd in Nashville.
