WWE Plans For Crown Jewel PLE Revealed
Details about what WWE plans to do for the Crown Jewel PLE from Australia have emerged.
At the 2024 version of WWE’s Crown Jewel PLE, the company tried something different by having the men’s WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion face off in a match to crown the Crown Jewel Champion. The same thing happened for the women as well.
Cody Rhodes beat Gunther in a close match to become the inaugural Men’s WWE Crown Jewel Champion, while Liv Morgan beat Nia Jax to become the Women’s WWE Crown Jewel Champion. The winners were presented with a massive title belt and a ring. However, the next episode of Raw essentially ignored those rewards for the winners.
Crown Jewel will be changed this year because it will take place in Perth, Australia, instead of Saudi Arabia. The shows will occur on October 10, 11, and 13 in Perth. This will see SmackDown, Raw, and Crown Jewel: Perth at the RAC Arena.
WWE Plans To Continue Crown Jewel Championship Matches
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that WWE will likely continue having the Crown Jewel Championship matches again this year.
On the Crown Jewel PPV on 10/11, they will have the annual Crown Jewel title matches previously scheduled as an annual thing in Saudi Arabia. Because Saudi Arabia is getting the Royal Rumble in January, they aren’t getting a PPV later in the year. So the WWE men’s and women’s champions will face the world champions just like last year.
The belief is these matches will go back to being a regular thing in Saudi Arabia in 2026 while the Survivor Series will have men and women’s WarGames matches.
A big selling point for Crown Jewel in Australia is that John Cena will be competing in Australia for the final time in his career since he’s retiring at the end of this year.
