WWE’s Plan For Joe Hendry On Main Roster, What Brand He’ll Be On
Joe Hendry could be joining the WWE main roster sooner than a lot of fans may think.
It was a big 2025 for Joe Hendry since he competed at WrestleMania 41 against Randy Orton, he won the TNA World Title for the first time, and then he officially became a WWE superstar later in the year.
During the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special built around John Cena’s retirement on December 13th, Joe Hendry appeared in an in-ring segment with R-Truth and The Miz. It didn’t turn out well for Miz, who Truth and Hendry beat up.
Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio mentioned that many NXT stars who appeared on that SNME special impressed WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, and the company wants to put them on the main roster soon.
Joe Hendry and Sol Ruca, they’re all on the list. I don’t know when Sol Ruca’s coming, but number one, they put her over Bayley.
I was told on the Sunday right after that show that all of those guys, when they got over. Oba Femi is too, even though he’s the champion right now. They see Oba Femi as a major main eventer.
Joe Hendry Could Be Full-Time On WWE SmackDown Soon
It has been reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that Hendry is strongly being considered for a full-time run on the main roster, and their report notes that Hendry could be part of the SmackDown brand soon. It’s fitting since Hendry is known for wearing a blue dress shirt and SmackDown is the blue brand.
The December 26th edition of WWE SmackDown was taped one week earlier. Here’s a non-spoiler listing about what’s coming up on the show, including
- Drew McIntyre returns after Cody Rhodes invaded his home
- Ilja Dragunov hosts another United States Title Open Challenge
- Joe Hendry comes to SmackDown to battle The Miz
Trick Williams is a former 2-time NXT Champion and TNA World Champion who is considered a free agent in WWE right now. Trick is rumored to be joining SmackDown as well, but it’s not official yet.
