WWE Planning Hulk Hogan-Heavy SmackDown
WWE has big plans for a tribute to Hulk Hogan.
Following several years of health problems, Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 at his home in Clearwater, Florida. The former World Champion was 71 years old.
Hogan is widely credited with helping reshape professional wrestling twice during his career after helping take the WWF to incredible heights in the 1990s. A little under a decade later, Hogan changed the game for a second time with WCW, forming the nWo alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.
However, in recent years, Hogan had been dogged by controversy after being caught on video using racist slurs and admitting to being a racist.
WWE Planning Hulk Hogan Tribute
As reported by Fightful Select, WWE is planning to honor Hogan during the July 25 edition of SmackDown. This has included reaching out to several legends to film tributes or attend the taping in person.
According to the report, WWE will be looking to “honor Hogan heavily” during the episode.
In the hours after his passing, tributes have continued to pour in for Hulk Hogan, with the likes of Donald Trump, Ric Flair, Triple H, and Sting all sharing their memories of the star. The Rock also shared a tribute while looking back at their classic encounter at WrestleMania X8.
