WWE Planning Big Title Win For Rising Star

Triple H WWE crowd

A new report has revealed why WWE held back on crowning a new champion.

Since moving to the main roster in early 2024, Bron Breakker has been on a one-man mission to create as much chaos as possible. This has seen him clash with, and usually destroy, the likes of Ricochet, Sami Zayn, and Ilja Dragunov.

However, his scary athleticism and power weren’t enough to defeat Zayn at Money In The Bank, with the veteran using every bit of his experience to escape with the Intercontinental Title.

Since then Breakker has continued his rampage, clashing with both Zayn and Dragunov on Raw.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that while there were hints Dragunov could be added to a match between Breakker and Zayn at SummerSlam, a singles match remains the preferred direction. Meltzer added that Breakker’s big title win was held off until SummerSlam to make sure it happened on a bigger show.

Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker for the IC title in a singles match is still on tap. Watching TV, many speculated that it could be a three-way involving Ilja Dragunov…

It would be a surprise for them to beat Breakker twice in a row. So it at least would feel like Breakker is the favorite to win, and the reason he lost first was so his title win would be on a higher profile show.

Bron Breakker Being Mentored By Top WWE Stars

During a recent interview, Bron Breakker praised Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Paul Heyman for helping him find his feet on the main roster. The second generation said the entire locker room has been welcoming with everyone working together to be as successful as possible.

Although he’s a multi-time champion in NXT, Breakker is yet to win championship gold on the main roster.
