A popular WWE figure could get back in the ring.

Nick Aldis began working with WWE in August 2023 after a short spell with what was IMPACT Wrestling. The British star initially worked backstage as a producer before being named SmackDown General Manager on October 13th.

Since then, Aldis has been a regular presence on the Blue brand, doing his best to control the action as The Bloodline runs wild.

The former World Champion hasn’t wrestled since competing at an independent event in October 2023, with his last match for a major promotion taking place in IMPACT three months earlier. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t be lacing up his boots again in the future.

Nick Aldis Could Wrestle In WWE

During a new interview with the Gorilla Position, Aldis was asked whether he wanted to wrestle again.

“Sure. It’s tough to answer this simply because I don’t want to ever give the impression that I’m trying to angle for something or go into something for myself. It’s unavoidable. I’ve seen a ton of sentiment from fans ‘we want to see you wrestle this guy.’ I appreciate all that. It’s not something I have any control or influence over.

It’s very much a case of, when Paul [Triple H] and I first started speaking, I made it very clear that ‘I want to be part of the team and contribute in whatever way you think is best.’ If, at some point, [getting in the ring] is best then great.

The GM conversation was the shortest conversation of my career. Bruce (Prichard) called me, ‘General Manager of SmackDown.’ ‘Great, when do I start?’ They laid out the terms and money, ‘All sounds great, let’s do it.’ Immediately, I said to my wife [Mickie James], ‘I’m going to try and be the best GM of all time.’ That’s all you can do,”

Back in April, Mickie James also denied she was retired, despite being out of the ring for several months at the time. James later returned to action on April 12th at the OPW H.E.R. event in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
