Bully Ray Calls “Massive BS” Over Reaction To NXT Title Switch

Following the NXT Women’s Title changing hands this week, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray thinks it’s “bulls**t” for fans to think that it hurt the loser.

The main event of WWE NXT this past Tuesday night saw Tiffany Stratton defend her NXT Women’s Title against “The Man” Becky Lynch, who has been on the WWE main roster for over eight years at this point.

Prior to her run on the WWE main roster, Lynch was a rising star on the WWE NXT brand along with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks. Together, those four women were known as the Four Horsewomen. While Lynch has had a lot of success on the main roster, she never held the NXT Women’s Title like Charlotte, Bayley and Sasha did.

That has changed now because Lynch beat Stratton on NXT this week. Stratton went for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, Lynch avoided it and Lynch hit a Manhandle slam to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

Bully Ray is a WWE Hall of Famer known as Bubba Ray Dudley. As a Busted Open Radio co-host, Bully Ray spoke about the match while saying it was “bs” for anybody to think that match hurt Stratton in any way.

“Tiffany Stratton is a star. I heard a lot of chatter on social media about how Tiffany Stratton got buried with her loss to Becky Lynch. I’m calling massive bulls**t on that.”

“Tiffany Stratton is more over today in her loss to Becky Lynch than she was going in to NXT as your WWE NXT Women’s Champion. She was still trending I think this morning and into the early afternoon. She has it all, and as long as she can keep her head on straight, she’s going to be a major player and a big star for the WWE.”

NXT’s Tiffany Stratton could be on a similar career path as a WWE Hall of Famer

As he continued, Bully Ray went on to compare the 24-year-old Stratton, who has only wrestled for two years, to WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.

“Might I say, and I’m going out on a limb here, and I hope it’s a strong limb, but I think Tiffany Stratton has the potential to be the next Trish Stratus for the WWE. I can tell you personally by being in the ring with Trish and working with Trish and seeing Trish from day one, how much she improved every single week and became one of the biggest names in all of women’s wrestling for the WWE, if not all of women’s women’s wrestling, period.”

The next WWE NXT Premium Live Event is No Mercy on September 30th. Lynch hasn’t been announced for a match yet, but perhaps we’ll see Stratton get her rematch at that show later this month.
