WWE NXT Gold Rush Sees Another Successful Title Defense

NXT Gold Rush 2025 has already seen two successful title defenses during Week 1 of the two-week television special. Chelsea Green and Ethan Page defended their AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships to kick off the show.

Their defense was followed up by Blake Monroe, who retained her Women’s North American Championship after Zaria threw in the towel for her tag team partner, Sol Ruca.

The third title match of the night followed suit as the NXT Tag Team Championships were on the line. DarkState were defending their titles against the team of Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans.

DarkState emerge victorious on NXT Gold Rush 2025

Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater put on a spirited show against the current reigning tag team champions and came close to winning the belts on multiple occasions. Evans, who had wrestled Gunther on RAW last night, had several huge moments in the match.

However, it wasn’t their night as DarkState, who remained in control for the majority of the match, came away with the win. The champions hit a devastating Doomsday Device on Leon Slater to retain their belts.
