WWE NXT Champion Infuriated By Comparisons To Other Wrestlers
A newly crowned WWE NXT Champion has expressed frustration over constant comparisons.
Izzi Dame kicked off 2026 in style by winning the NXT Women’s North American Championship from Thea Hail at New Year’s Evil.
Dame initially fought her former ‘The Culling’ stablemate Tatum Paxley, whom she had betrayed during NXT Gold Rush.
The 26-year-old beat Paxley at Deadline, extending their feud into the New Year. At New Year’s Evil, Izzi Dame dominated their fight, but this time around, it was Paxley who got the best of her.
In the closing minutes, Paxley hit her Cemetery Drive finisher for the win.
Just when everyone thought Dame’s night was over, she turned up as Thea Hail’s opponent in her open challenge for the championship.
Hail, who was earlier viciously beaten up by Blake Monroe, fell to the Dame Over finisher. Dame, this became the WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion for the first time.
Izzi Dame Frustrated By Comparison To Other WWE Wrestlers
Izzi Dame recently spoke to WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray on the Busted Open Radio podcast, where they discussed her stint in the promotion and life before that.
Bully Ray asked her about her future goals after spending three years in the business. The WWE star minced no words, claiming that she wished to be free of the constant comparisons to “every other blonde on the roster.”
Let me give you the answer that everyone gives you. I’m happy where I’m at. Obviously the goal is to always move up to bigger and better things, if that’s not your goal you shouldn’t be here. Your goal should always be to raise the bar for yourself.
For me I feel like my goal is to find a true identity in this business as I go through this.
Every time I open my phone I’m constantly being compared to every other blonde on this roster, and it’s so infuriating to me because I feel like I try to just be so authentically me out there.
And nobody is going to be me, no one is going to be as manipulative, as cunning, as calculated as I am so its like to sit here and compare me to other blondes just because we’re blonde is super frustrating for me.
So yes it’s awesome to be compared to them, because they’re amazing and great and they’re so talented but I’m just trying to find my own identity that makes me different. [H/T: WrestleTalk.com]
