WWE Night Of Champions Match Order Confirmed
The match order is set for WWE Night of Champions with John Cena and CM Punk scheduled to be in the main event.
WWE Night of Champions is taking place on Saturday, June 28th, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and it’s a show that has six matches. In the past, Night of Champions usually meant that every match would be for a championship, but that’s not the case this year.
This year’s Night of Champions will feature the King and Queen of the Ring Finals. The winners of those tournaments will receive WWE Title or World Heavyweight Title opportunities at SummerSlam, which takes place on August 2nd & August 3rd in New Jersey.
In the King of the Ring finals, Cody Rhodes will face his wrestling mentor, Randy Orton. The two men have been close friends since Orton led a group called Legacy that Rhodes was part of when Cody was very early in his career.
The Queen of the Ring Finals will be between former Women’s Champion Asuka, who returned to the ring recently after missing over a year of action due to a serious knee injury. Jade Cargill will face Asuka in that match as Jade tries to win her first singles title in WWE at SummerSlam.
WWE Night Of Champions Will Feature John Cena And CM Punk In The Main Event
CM Punk delivered a unique “Basic Punkanomics” rap toward John Cena on the final WWE SmackDown episode before Night of Champions. That set the stage for their match that will headline Night of Champions.
PWInsider Elite revealed the Night of Champions match order, and you can see it below.
- King of the Ring Tournament Finals: Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes
