WWE News: Updated Wrestlemania Lineup and Rumored Matches including John Cena’s Opponent
Wrestlemania 36 is only 44 days away and the card is starting to take shape. As of right now the only official matches that have been announced for Wrestlemania are Drew McIntyre against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship as well as Charlotte Flair versus Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Aside from those two matches, several big matches are planned for the event according to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. After both not wrestling a match last year at Wrestlemania, both John Cena and The Undertaker are scheduled to compete at this year’s event. Cena is scheduled to face off against the wrestler he did an in-ring promo last year at Wrestlemania, Elias. Also as we previously reported on this site, The Undertaker is still expected to face off with AJ Styles.
Shayna Baszler is expected to win the Raw Women’s Elimination Chamber match next month, and go on to face Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Title. Bray Wyatt is expected to defeat Goldberg at Super Showdown on February 29th and then go on to defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, who will likely win a Men’s Elimination Chamber match. Randy Orton and Edge are also expected to continue their feud and have a match at WrestleMania as well
There are also plans to have both a men’s and women’s battle royal match again along with a Smackdown Women’s Title match.
Noticeably missing from these scheduled matches are Goldberg, Ronda Rousey and Triple H, with none of them having matches planned at this time.
There will likely be matches for other big names for Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan, but those aren’t known yet. Rollins vs. Kevin Owens in singles or maybe a tag team match is a possibility.
Below are all the matches scheduled so far according to Meltzer, as always card is subject to change. Plus, there could also be injuries on the road to WrestleMania that changes things up.
