WWE News: Sasha Banks Update, Triple H’s Next Match, Top 10 Funniest Mr. McMahon Impersonations

TJR Wrestling

Sasha Banks has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania when she and Bayley lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles to The IIconics in a Fatal 4-Way match. In April, we reported that Banks was unhappy and may have threatened to quit WWE. Two weeks ago, we reported on how Banks met with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon recently and apparently things went well, but Banks has yet to return to WWE TV.

In an update on the Banks situation, PWInsider reported that Banks is filming content today for the upcoming WWE 2K20 video game. Mike Johnson of PWInsider wrote “that should tell you all that you need to know” about Sasha’s future with the company, which means they are likely on good terms.

If you follow Banks on Instagram, she seems to be happy and was recently on a vacation in Jamaica. I guess you could say she’s been on vacation for two months. Must be nice. Also, she’s back to her natural black hair.

TJR Thoughts: I hope she is back on WWE TV soon. There’s nothing wrong with taking a break from WWE TV in order to come back fresh. When she does come back, I’d love to see her in a heel role because I think she was the best women’s heel in WWE NXT history and I wish she got to bring that character to the main roster. Putting her as a heel against either Becky Lynch on Raw or her best friend Bayley on Smackdown would be fresh.

On a final Banks note, I think it’s ridiculous how some websites “report” on things like Sasha “liking” a post on Instagram as if that is news. She’s on a break. She’s on her phone. It’s not news or a “cryptic” thing for her to post things that aren’t about current WWE things. Some wrestling reporting is terrible these days and it makes us all look bad.

* Triple H will be wrestling again later this month. He has only wrestled twice this year and his next match is going to take place in Tokyo, Japan.

The first Tokyo show will take place on Friday, June 28th. Triple H will team up with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin. and Samoa Joe. They also have another show in Tokyo on Saturday, June 29th and Triple H will probably wrestle there as well.

They are live events and not expected to be on WWE Network unless WWE decides to film it. They have aired Japan live events in the past, but nothing has been announced about the live event later this month.

* Lastly, if you check out WWE’s Youtube regularly or their social media pages, then you know that they release a WWE Top 10 video list every Saturday and Monday. Today, their top 10 video is a compilation of the Top 10 Mr. McMahon Impersonations.

Shoutout to Duke “The Dumpster” Droese! I thought the Sandow impression was the best, but I don’t have any complaints about Triple H at number one.
