WWE News on Edge’s Contract with WWE, Likely Number of Matches, More
Without question, the biggest wrestling news of 2020 so far occurred last Sunday at the Royal Rumble, when Edge returned to a WWE ring after nearly nine years away.
Details have begun to emerge on what Edge’s new deal with WWE entails. According to talkSPORT, Edge has signed a three-year deal worth $3 million a year although most WWE contracts have bonuses on top of that. Edge has to work a minimum of three matches a year to earn that amount, but has agreed to work five matches a year along with making 25 appearances a year to help build to those matches.
It has also been reported (and we have mentioned it on the site before) that Edge had talks with AEW before signing with WWE, which may explain why he got such a lucrative deal from WWE.
As seen this past Monday, Edge is expected to be a member of the Raw roster for the foreseeable future while feuding with Randy Orton, who viciously turned on and attacked Edge on Monday’s edition of Raw.
Matt’s Musings: Congrats to Edge for securing such a lucrative contract, if any superstar is worth that amount of money it is him.
