WWE News: NXT Announces Tournament to Crown Interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Devlin Comments
A new interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion will soon be crowned. NXT General Manager William Regal appeared on WWE’s The Bump today and announced that current NXT Champion Jordan Devlin is unable to defend the title, due to being stuck in the UK because of the Coronavirus Pandemic. A tournament will be held to crown an interim champion, with Regal promising to release all the details in the next few days.
NXT Tag Team Champion Pete Dunne is also in a similar situation as Devlin, with Regal promising to address the tag title situation in the upcoming weeks. Dunne’s partner Matt Riddle is in the US and will be apart of the NXT TV tapings.

Devlin tweeted about it and WWE posted some comments from him as well.
First things first, absolutely shocking and disrespectful decision by @WWE management.
Secondly, you can crown a fraud champion and give him a little replica of my title, but everyone around the world knows who the REAL NXT Cruiserweight Champion still is. https://t.co/rIA7AJZwod

Matt’s Musings: Tough break for both Dunne and Devlin. Hopefully they can return to work as soon as it is safe to do so.
