WWE News: Heavy Machinery Tag Team Each Had Their Last Names Removed

TJR Wrestling

The Heavy Machinery duo of Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight have joined the shortened name club. After last night’s edition, the tag team duo that was recently called up from NXT had their names altered on WWE.com.

After the name change, the Heavy Machinery team are now Otis (WWE.com profile) and Tucker (WWE.com profile).

The most recent wrestler that had their name change was Andrade last month when WWE decided to drop the “Cien Almas” part of his name.

Here’s a list of some of the wrestlers that lost part of their name on the main roster:

(Antonio) Cesaro

(Alexander) Rusev

Big E (Langston)

(Adrian) Neville – He’s now in AEW as Pac.

Elias (Samson)

(Luke) Harper

(Erick) Rowan

Andrade (Cien Almas)

TJR Thoughts: This never bothers me because it’s early in their main roster careers, so it’s not a big deal. Plus, it means less typing for me, which is a positive thing for me. I think Otis and Tucker are unique enough as names that it will work out fine for them. It’s probably a Vince McMahon decision, but I don’t know that as fact. I just know everything that gets approved in WWE goes through him, so he must like the shorter names.
