WWE News: Christian to Host “Peep Show” on Raw with Edge as Guest, NXT Tonight, Takeover “In Your House” Update
It was announced on WWE Backstage last night that former WWE World Champion Christian will be on the June 8th edition of Raw. Why? Because he’s hosting the “Peep Show” talk show that he used to host and his guest will be his best friend, Edge.
It was noted by Christian on WWE Backstage that no one knows Edge better than him, so he will talk to him to find out where his head is at heading into Backlash on June 14. Edge’s match at Backlash is against Randy Orton in what WWE is billing as a match that could be “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever.” It’s a bold claim obviously, but WWE is pushing forward to it.
They have been best friends since childhood, won the WWE Tag Team Titles seven times and they both had a lot of success as singles wrestlers. When Edge was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012, Christian is the one that did the speech to introduce him. Whenever Christian goes in WWE’s Hall of Fame, Edge will likely introduce him too. I also highly recommend their “Edge and Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness” that is on WWE Network as well. It was funny for the two seasons that they did it.
TJR Thoughts: The guess here is that Randy Orton interrupts and it wouldn’t surprise me if Christian took an RKO from him although Christian may not be allowed to take a bump. Christian hasn’t wrestled since 2014 due to concussion issues, so WWE may not want him to take a bump. Christian had several great matches with Orton in 2011, so there’s a lot of trust there. I’m not saying Christian *needs* to take a bump, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it happens.
NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Finals Takes Place Tonight on NXT

The finals of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament takes place tonight on NXT on USA Network. The finals will see El Hijo Del Fantasma face Drake Maverick. The story of Maverick in the tournament has been interesting since he was released by WWE in April, yet they booked him in this tournament and he’s done so well that he’s one win away from winning the title. Does this mean that Maverick will remain in WWE if he wins this match? It’s possible, but for now, we don’t know that answer.
Also announced for NXT tonight is a match between Mia Yim and Candice LeRae.
Prior to NXT Takeover In Your House on Sunday, there’s a special edition of WWE’s The Bump.
