WWE Newcomer Gives Up Title

WWE logo over Ricky Saints title belt

One of WWE’s newest stars has been forced to give up their title with a new champion set to be crowned in a matter of weeks.

Many fans clamoured for Ricky Starks to be given the chance to compete in the ring while not appearing on AEW television as his contract with that company wound down. DEFY Wrestling booked Starks for a match on February 7 which saw him with the DEFY World Title from KENTA. But he won’t be defending that crown.

Just four days later, Ricky Starks was put on hold and Ricky Saints was born as the star debuted in WWE. Since then, Ricky Saints won his in-ring WWE debut when he teamed with Je’Von Evans to defeat Wes Lee and Ethan Page as he sets his sights on big things in NXT.

Ricky Saints Won’t Defend Title After WWE Signing

That means Saints won’t be defending his DEFY World Title and has sent a video message confirming that a new DEFY World Champion will be crowned on March 15 at DEFY Aftermath.

Ricky Saints is not yet scheduled for a match at Roadblock on March 11 where titles will be on the line. A huge champion vs. champion match is scheduled for that show with suggestions coming that one top NXT star is battling an injury.
