WWE Plans New Challengers For Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are finding out it’s tough at the top and now it seems that a team that has yet to reunite on WWE television could be in the WWE Tag Team Champion’s future.

Owens and Zayn captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from The Usos in the main event of WrestleMania 39 as Zayn gained revenge on The Bloodline for his treatment in the months before. The champions now have Pretty Deadly in their future as the main roster newcomers look to make their mark in short order.

Now WRKD Wrestling has reported that with Tommaso Ciampa now back in the fold in the company following his return on Monday Night Raw, the plan is still to reunite him with his old #DIY tag team partner Johnny Gargano and eventually have them go after the WWE Tag Team Championship:

“While Johnny Gargano was noticeably absent from #WWERaw, fans saw the return of Ciampa. As we’ve reported in the past, there are still plans in the works to reform #DIY. We can now add current plans have this leading to a feud with Owens/Zayn over the tag titles.”

Tommaso Ciampa returned to Raw after nine months out through injury where he emphatically ended his previous association with The Miz before referencing #DIY in a backstage interview.
