WWE Nervous About Potential Legal Action
Steve Austin might have caused a big problem for WWE.
Ahead of the main event of night two of WrestleMania 41, Stone Cold Steve Austin made a hugely popular appearance to announce the official attendance.
Austin arrived at ringside on his ATV and managed to crash into a security barrier, knocking a female fan back into her seat.
On safer ground in the ring, he announced the attendance as 63,226 before casting doubt on the figure and demanding a recount. Something he then proceeded to conduct himself before declaring the project “bullsh*t.”
Austin announced the two-night attendance as 124,693 and drank a whole load of beer to celebrate.
Steve Austin Causes Issues For WWE Bosses
While reviewing the action on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez commented on Austin’s ringside crash. The pair noted how quickly company president Nick Khan swooped in to talk to the fan, with Alvarez claiming the company is “nervous” about the potential ramifications.
Alvarez: “And meanwhile, Austin sprinting down in this ATV or whatever, and he flies around the ring, and he smashed into the barricade, and he knocks this woman back and and he jumps off and, like, he gets in the ring or whatever, and Nick Khan flies over, and he’s talking to this lady, and we’ll see what happens, man.
Dave Meltzer: “Hey, Nick Khan is a smooth operator.”
Alvarez: “He is. I heard they’re nervous about this one.”
Meanwhile, in the main event, John Cena made history as he won the World Championship for a record 17th time, moving him past Ric Flair on the all-time list. The bout and the involvement of Travis Scott immediately split fans on social media, but none of that mattered to Cena, who walked out with the gold.
Following the match, Cena told fans to tune into Raw to see how he plans on ruining wrestling.
