Ex-WWE Star’s Name Censored In Controversial Story On Cody Rhodes’ Podcast

Cody Rhodes

Kevin Owens was this week’s guest on Cody Rhodes’ podcast.

Cody Rhodes is on his way to compete in the finals of the King Of The Ring Tournament at Night of Champions this week. Amidst the build-up to his high-pressure match, The American Nightmare hosted Kevin Owens on his weekly podcast.

On the latest episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes spoke candidly about their days on the independent wrestling circuit. The host recalled asking his guest about fair pricing before entering the indie scene, wanting to avoid being like some former WWE stars who “rob the bank” by charging too much.

Owens agreed and shared that his experience differed since he wasn’t known as a former WWE name and didn’t have the built-in recognition of someone like Rhodes. He revealed that his highest rate was $600. However, The Prizefighter pointed out that some ex-WWE stars overhauled themselves, leading to fewer bookings. He name-dropped one such star, whose name was censored when the episode was released.

“And I think, you know (censored), a good example, charged insane amounts of money, which he might have gotten a couple of times at first. And now I think it’s safe to say he has not been booked very much.” [H/T ITRWrestling]

Randy Orton Picks Between Facing Cody Rhodes And Jey Uso

Over the weekend, WWE held the SummerSlam Kickoff Show in New York City. Top names such as Randy Orton, John Cena, Nikki Bella, and more were a part of the streamed event. The Viper was the first to make an appearance in front of the audience.

The former World Champion was asked who he would like to face in the King Of The Ring final at Night of Champions. Orton gave props to Jey Uso but ultimately chose Cody Rhodes. The two will lock horns this weekend for a title shot at SummerSlam.
