WWE Planning More 2-Night PLEs Following SummerSlam Success

Triple H WWE SummerSlam

There will likely be more two-night WWE PLEs in the future, especially after how many tickets were sold at SummerSlam.

WrestleMania became a two-night Premium Live Event in 2020 at a time when the biggest WWE show of the year took place in front of no fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 2021, including this year’s WrestleMania 41 event in Las Vegas, WrestleMania has remained a two-night event, leading to more matches and huge crowds going crazy for the biggest event of the year.

SummerSlam 2025 at MetLife Stadium was the first non-WrestleMania WWE PLE to become a two-night event. The announced attendance, by Stephanie McMahon on SummerSlam Sunday, for the first-ever two-night SummerSlam was 113,722 people.

It’s likely that many fans who attended SummerSlam on Saturday were also in the crowd on Sunday, but it’s still over 100,000+ tickets sold in a massive stadium to see two nights of WWE action. It’s a very impressive feat that led to the largest crowd ever for a SummerSlam, thanks to the fact that it was over two nights.

Before this year’s SummerSlam, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, explained why the company was making SummerSlam a two-night event.

“Look, it has been successful for us on the WrestleMania side for sure—the two-night WrestleManias are destination weekends. People plan their year, their vacation around it. A lot of folks come in on Thursday, they’re going to the World, seeing all the memorabilia, getting autographs, coming to SmackDown on Friday night, then the Saturday-Sunday events. NXT in the afternoon sometimes on Saturdays, all the way through to Monday night.

This time, we’ll be at Barclays Center. If you’re a fan, there’s nothing like it. It’s going to Disney for pro wrestling. It’s worked for us at WrestleMania. It’ll work for us at SummerSlam. It’s going incredibly well. The business is there—so let’s take it.”

More 2-Night WWE PLEs Are Coming

The 2026 edition of SummerSlam will also be a two-night event, with WWE announcing that Minnesota will host on August 1 & 2, 2026. That announcement was made over a year ago in May 2024, so clearly WWE has had this vision for a long time.

It has been reported by Andrew Baydala on X that WWE plans to have more 2-night PLE shows in the future.

Following the success of #SummerSlam in New Jersey this past weekend, the discussion of hosting more two-night events has intensified within WWE/TKO. With an earlier start/finish time, impressive revenue, and attendance numbers, it’s clear that the two-night format resonated well with fans. TKO/#WWE appears to be capitalizing on this success, as plans are already underway to introduce more two-night Premium Live Events (PLEs) in 2026.

Survivor Series 2026 and the Royal Rumble in 2027 are at the top of the list, but it looks like Money In The Bank might also be in the mix for this format.

Given that every Survivor Series features a Men’s and Women’s WarGames match, and every Money in the Bank event includes Men’s and Women’s MITB matches, it makes logical sense to spread these events over two nights in the future.

Royal Rumble 2026 will be in Saudi Arabia, and it will likely remain a one-night event unless WWE decides to change it up.
