WWE Moment That Almost Caused Damian Priest To Break Character
Damian Priest has revealed that he almost broke character during one famous WWE moment.
The Judgment Day member is renowned for his serious demeanour as he tries to control the often wild WWE Raw faction whilst plotting to hold on to the World Heavyweight Championship he acquired at WrestleMania 40 . Priest lifted his first ever World Title after cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase against then-newly crowned Champion Drew McIntyre on night two and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial FIeld.
Despite his focused approach to business, Priest has lifted the lid on a moment during a previous headlining feud that very nearly saw the 6ft 5inch Superstar drop his guard in front of a sold out crowd.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Squared Circle Pit, Priest opened up about almost breaking character during the entrance of opponent Bad Bunny at WWE Backlash 2023:
“Yeah, that’s exactly what happened. I had to be like, hey, cut it out. Stay in it, stay in it… I’ve been in the crowd where you could feel the floor shaking a little bit and what not but being in the ring, you don’t really feel the tremble. You don’t really feel that.
But I felt it that night. That was wild, in his entrance and I got goosebumps while I was in the ring waiting for him and then but I had to keep a straight face, you know? Angry or whatever but, that was one of the wildest things I had ever seen.”
Damian Priest Lifts Lid On Build Up To Backlash 2023
The highly anticipated San Juan Street Fight between Damian Priest and Bad Bunny was a standout match on a fine card from both mens home country, Puerto Rico, on 6th May 2023.
Whilst WWE management often take credit for being the creative inspiration behind feuds, Damian Priest recently revealed that both he and Bad Bunny pushed hard backstage for the bout to take place.
