WWE To Miss Out As AEW Lands Major International Star

Tony Khan AEW

AEW looks to be on the verge of adding another big star to its roster.

According to a new report from Tokyo Sports, Mina Shirakawa is on the verge of leaving Stardom. It’s believed that the star informed the company of her intention to leave in late 2024, and she’ll head to the United States when her contract expires.

The initial report noted that a move to WWE could be possible, but it seems Shirakawa has other plans.

A follow-up report from Fightful Select noted that Shirakawa is set to sign with AEW and a press release is planned for the coming days. The star made several appearances for the promotion through the second half of 2024, and she lost the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Title to Mercedes Mone at Dynasty in January 2025.

Saraya Inching Towards AEW Exit

Meanwhile, Saraya has given the biggest hint yet that she could swap AEW for WWE before the end of the year.

The British star’s All Elite contract is set to expire in September, and she’s made no secret of her admiration for her former employer.

In a series of new interviews while promoting her autobiography “Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives,” the former Women’s Champion said she’s open to returning to WWE while admitting a match with Mercedes Mone may not happen in AEW because she might not be there long enough.
