WWE Management “Happy” With NXT Call Ups On Raw

Triple H on the mic WWE Raw

The recent WWE Draft mixed things up on the Raw and SmackDown brands but it also provided an opportunity for several NXT stars to make the step up to the main roster.

Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter made the step up when they were drafted to Raw and the pair made their in-ring debut together on the red brand on Monday night.

On Raw in Hartford, CT WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler were backstage complaining about the need for proper competition when they were confronted by Chance and Carter. Initially, the champions were dismissive of the newcomers but they ended up accepting their challenge to meet them in the ring.

The match between the two teams might have been more competitive than the champions initially thought but in the end, they had too much for Carter and Chance with Shayna Baszler forcing Kayden Carter into submission to win the match.

PWInsider has reported that WWE management was happy with Carter and Chance’s work on the show. With the WWE women’s tag team division thin on the ground in terms of partnerships, that could be a good sign that the NXT newcomers will have more opportunities to appear on the show.
