WWE Making Change To Popular Tag Team

Triple H WWE

WWE is making some changes.

During the September 23rd episode of Raw, WWE aired a mysterious vignette that immediately got fans talking.

The clip featured a burning circle containing three Viking runes and a voiceover simply saying “Fate is woven.” Given the Viking links many fans were quick to suspect that The Viking Raiders could be making their way back to the ring.

The Viking Raiders, Erik & Ivar, have been out of action for quite some time. Erik has been out of action for over a year after undergoing neck surgery. His partner Ivar continued his career as a singles star in his absence but Ivar has been missing since April after confirming his own serious injury.

During their most recent run, the duo appeared with Erik’s wife Sarah Logan who wrestled as Valhalla.

WWE Taking Tag Team Back To The Future

On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, it was confirmed that the vignette was for the returning Viking Raiders. However, when they do get back in the ring, it seems their presentation will be slightly different.

According to the report, Erik and Ivar will again be known as the War Raiders. The pair wrestled under the name upon debuting in NXT back in 2018, having been known as War Machine during their time with Ring of Honor and NJPW previously.

Joey Votes: “It is the return of the Viking Raiders. But TC, can you allude to what’s special about this as maybe it won’t be the Viking Raiders?”

WrestleVotes: “Yeah. Viking Raiders have gone over a number of name changes over the years, from NXT up to the main roster, with the Viking Experience at first, and now the Viking Raiders.

But now that the person in charge who was not a big fan of War Raiders is out of the way, I think you’re going to see the return of the name the War Raiders as the tag team for Erik and Ivar, as they are both ready to go and return back to the main roster.”

During their WWE careers to date, Erik and Ivar have won tag team gold in NXT and on Raw.
