WWE Making Major Schedule Changes In Holiday Season
WWE talent will be taking some time off.
On December 26th, WWE will return to Madison Square Garden for its traditional holiday live event. At the show in 2023, CM Punk wrestled his first match for the company in almost a decade.
However, in 2024 the company was forced into a reshuffle following an injury to Bronson Reed. The Aussie star was originally scheduled to be heavily involved but he’s been pulled from the holiday schedule after undergoing surgery.
Outside of the main roster, WWE will also be taking measures to enable NXT stars to spend some time at home.
WWE Making Changes
As noted by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, NXT will be broadcast live on December 10th before the changes hit. Two episodes will be taped on December 17th with one broadcast that night, and the other on Christmas Eve.
The tapings on the 17th will take place in Lowell, MA at the Memorial Auditorium.
On December 19th, NXT will tape the December 31st episode.
The move comes after WWE altered its taping schedule for SmackDown ahead of Thanksgiving so talent could spend the holiday at home with their families. It was noted by several people within the industry that this is a stark change to the ‘Vince McMahon era’ where talents were forced to travel on Thanksgiving before working the following day.
