WWE Possibly Dropped Major AJ Lee Return Tease
AJ Lee hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since the night after WrestleMania 31 in 2015, when she teamed with Paige and Naomi to defeat the Bella Twins and Natalya.
That marked the end of an impactful yet relatively brief run in WWE, during which she became a three-time Divas Champion and one of the most talked-about women in the company. Ever since her departure, fans have been clamoring for her return, and WWE may have just given them reason to believe it could actually happen.
WWE’s Social Media Sparks Speculation About AJ Lee’s Return
In the past week, WWE’s official accounts have twice revisited AJ Lee’s legacy. First, they posted an image on Instagram story from her SummerSlam 2014 match against Paige, a rivalry that was instrumental in shaping WWE’s “Women’s Evolution.”
Then, just days later, WWE Vault released a special video titled “The Story of the Rise: AJ Lee (2013–2014).” The timing of this content drop, combined with the fact that Evolution 2 is right around the corner, has fans raising their eyebrows.

WWE is no stranger to subtle hints and slow-burn storytelling. The company has used social media and archival content before to plant seeds ahead of major returns.
While nothing has been confirmed, the back-to-back AJ Lee highlights feel too deliberate to be a coincidence. Whether it’s just a nostalgic nod or a calculated move to gauge fan interest remains to be seen.
That said, the all-women’s premium live event, Evolution 2, is scheduled for July 13. It serves as a perfect platform to bring back iconic female talent, much like the first edition in 2018. If AJ Lee were to make a return, this would be the moment to do it.
