WWE Looking To Turn Rising Star Into “Elite Talent”

Triple H WWE Raw press conference

WWE has big plans for a popular SmackDown star.

It was something of a badly kept secret that Jacob Fatu was good, but few could have predicted how he’s exploded onto the scene since making his WWE debut in June 2024.

Fatu initially teamed with Solo Sikoa’s branch of The Bloodline and took great joy from destroying the likes of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. In the early months of 2025, Fatu had fully transitioned into the singles ranks, and he won the United Championship at WrestleMania 41.

In the weeks after his win, the star turned his back on Sikoa before losing the gold to the star at Night of Champions.

Right from the start of his WWE career, fans had been wowed by his in-ring physicality, and it wasn’t long until he was cheered to the rafters despite technically being a heel.

Jacob Fatu Destined For Big Things In WWE

In recent weeks, his popularity has continued to skyrocket, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by management. According to a new report via Wrestle Votes Radio, Fatu’s journey to becoming a top babyface is already underway.

“We are told, Jacob Fatu’s rise as a top-tier baby face is officially underway with the company ready to elevate his profile, not just on screen, but through heavy promotion and public appearances.”

The report added that new merchandise is on the way, which will be designed in collaboration with major sports teams, something usually only reserved for “elite talent.”

“In fact, expect to see exclusive city-themed merchandise for the Samoan werewolf, designed in collaboration with local sports teams, beginning to roll out in both arenas and stadiums soon.

That kind of marketing effort has historically been reserved for elite talent, which speaks volumes about how highly the company views Jacob Fatu’s potential… you’re talking to guys like John Cena and Steve Austin, and now they’re going to throw Jacob Fatu into this scenario.”

Jacob Fatu was most recently in action on the June 30 edition of SmackDown, where he teamed with Jimmy Uso to defeat JC Mateo and Solo Sikoa. However, he did come to the aid of Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event after the former tag team star failed to beat Sikoa for the United States Title.

After the match, the MFT looked to take out Uso, but Fatu arrived on the scene to even the score, standing tall at the end of the segment.

It’s also been reported that Jacob Fatu is playing a major role in training Jelly Roll as he prepares for his WWE in-ring debut.
