WWE Looking To Sign Another TNA Star
WWE could be looking to sign another of TNA’s biggest names.
Mike Santana made his WWE debut during a backstage segment at NXT Battleground, which set up a match against Tavion Heights two days later. This was followed by a report claiming WWE had been impressed with Santana’s attitude as well as his performance.
Following that win, Santana stepped up to challenge Trick Williams, who had recently won the TNA World Championship.
A week later, Santana faced Williams for the gold, again on NXT. Although the former AEW star ultimately came up short against Williams thanks to interference from AJ Francis and KC Navarro, it seems he made another positive impression.
WWE Impressed By Mike Santana
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there’s been a lot of talk within WWE regarding Santana. It had already been noted that the star had earned “high marks” following his NXT debut, and that feeling only increased after his match with Trick Williams.
However, Santana remains under contract with TNA through the end of 2025.
Following a string of appearances in NXT, it was reported that Joe Hendry is expected to sign with the sports entertainment giant when his TNA deal expires in the coming months. Hendry’s appearance at WrestleMania 41 opposite Randy Orton only served to add further fuel to the growing fire.
WWE has already signed Jordynne Grace in a similar fashion after she made her own impact in NXT.
