WWE Legend’s Reaction To John Cena Legitimately Mistreating Ex-Champion During Match
John Cena’s reputation in WWE is that of a ‘good guy.’
A former tag team champion has now levelled accusations against the 17-time world champion that he may be anything but nice.
David Otunga of The Nexus faction once held the tag team titles with Cena, when the latter was forced to join the group after losing a match to Wade Barrett.
In a recently released video on his YouTube channel titled “What John Cena Was REALLY Like,” Otunga revealed being dressed down in front of the locker room by Cena for an incident during a match that was not his fault.
Otunga starts by saying that it was a story he had been waiting for 15 years to tell.
The match took place in France in September 2010 when Cena and Evan Bourne teamed up to take on The Nexus.
The spot involved Otunga pulling Cena into the ring with a slingshot-like move, but Cena sold the move much sooner, making it look awkward.
The 45-year-old former WWE star revealed that Goldust sided with him when he saw Cena humiliate him in the dressing room, knowing that it was his fault.
Goldust comes over to me, and the first thing he says is, “Man, that’s f’d up.” He’s like, “He should never talk to anybody like that. He should not have talked to you like that.” And he’s like, “I’m gonna say something to him about it,” but then also, he’s like, “So, wait a minute. What’s he mad about?” And I tell him it’s the spot with the rope. And Goldust says, “Well, John messed that up.” And I’m like, “I know.” [22:38 onwards]
John Cena Reacts After His Final WWE Opponent Is Revealed
John Cena will compete in his final WWE match on December 13, at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.
On December 5, LA Knight and Gunther had the final match of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament on SmackDown to face Cena in Washington, DC.
The match was highly entertaining, as both superstars traded offense. It was, however, The Ring General, who came out on top after attacking the Megastar’s neck in the closing minutes.
He then applied a neck lock, forcing the former United States Champion to tap out.
Meanwhile, John Cena took to Instagram to post a picture of Gunther, acknowledging him as his last opponent.
Gunther will next address his victory on the December 8 episode of RAW.
